It’s no secret, we love a black and white table. After all, this chic and sophisticated color combination lends itself to both casual and formal affairs. This season, we decided to depart from the conventional and set a Halloween tablescape that is unexpected yet refined and replete with talismanic motifs like feathers and crystals.
We first selected a gauzy, black linen tablecloth. The ghostly, sheer ground was the simple but impactful statement to set the mood. Against the clean ground, we selected our Juju Reversible Placemat. It’s bursting feather pattern provided a welcome contrast against the black linen. The unique, grooved edge was an added bonus and brought shape to the table.
With an understated and organic silhouette, CB2’s Moonrock Dinner Plates’ matte black reactive finish were the perfect choice to counterbalance such a striking placemat. To pull the look together, we combined our Flare Napkin Ring in Gold and Black (subtly mirroring the placemat) with the Chambray Gauze Napkin in White.
For a touch of modern, we juxtaposed the Vague Red Wine and Tumbler in Smoke with Buccellati silver– which was left unpolished for an added haunted effect. Tip: Impress your guests by topping off any beverage with dry ice– wait until it dissipates to drink!
Our eccentric and slightly gothic centerpiece showcases sky-high pom pom dahlias whimsically arranged in a collection of vintage black Murano vases and bookended with black quartz candle holders. Tip: Don’t forget to stagger the height of the flowers for added drama.
As parting favors, we treated each guest to a set of our Catrina Cocktail Napkins.
