Any afternoon lunch on the terrace can become a dressed-up surprise with the right pieces at the table. And what could be more perfect on a summer day than choosing a theme with the sea in mind?
The special part about the look depicted is its light and bright quality. As a backdrop, the gold foil linen tablecloth makes so much sense: the subtle shimmer mimics the ocean bottom seen in shallow water. For a pop of color, we selected our Ombre Capiz Placemat in Azure. Its vivid aqua hue added a refreshing touch to the neutral ground.
Heading the table is our Sea Odyssey Placemat, a rich vignette of beaded handiwork that illustrates a reef of coral, anemones, and sea plants in shades of sand and ivory.
We combined our Shakti Crackle Dinner Plates in Opal with Shakti Halo Opal Dessert Plate for a clean, minimal look. The subtle, reactive glaze almost mimics abalone shell, which was perfect for the theme. Our Herringbone Napkin in Seafoam and Gold adds a slight formality, while the Starfish Napkin Ring in Natural and Gold ties it all together on a jubilant note.
A sprinkling of shells, collected from the ocean and were creatively used as salt cellars. Putting out different types of salts with your meal—Himalayan, fleur de sel, black sea salt—will add interest instantly.
The crowing glory was our floral arrangement using Jaune de Chrome’s Aguirre Bowl. An abundant display of Smoke Bush, Astilbe, Seeded Eucalyptus, and Blushing Bride Serruria is as varied as the flora found in the sea.
