Call us overzealous, but with spring around the corner, we’re already daydreaming about entertaining for the warmer weather. Blue and white, a classic combination never goes out of style and what better way to welcome the season than with this foolproof palette.
An eye-catching blue and white tablecloth with a trailing garden design was the perfect backdrop for this light-hearted, fuss-free table. Vintage blue and white ginger jars bookend full and hearty hydrangeas in shades of blue and green for a simple but impactful touch to the table. By keeping the palette tight, we were able to layer various designs without overwhelming the table.
To add a contemporary spin we decided on our Stencil Placemats in gray and indigo. The distinctive, geometric pattern is an unexpected addition to the floral background. Simple white plates break up the pattern for our Congo Napkin in blue and white paired with Spider Bead Burst Napkin Ring in navy.
A table with such a tight palette simply requires a dash of something unexpected. While we could have opted for simple clear glassware, we much preferred our Croco Tumbler and Goblet in Sapphire. It added just the right amount of playfulness and texture to the table.
Kim is an avid collector of antique salt and pepper shakers. In fact, she has an entire drawer full of sets she’s found throughout her travels. These vintage ones inspired by Japanese culture were just the finishing embellishment needed to complete this table. How darling are the miniature geta sandals?
Whether you’re in the height of summer or just counting the days until spring, a blue and white table will always be foolproof!
